It’s time to update MyCalyx®! This evening, beginning at 5:30pm PST, MyCalyx will be unavailable to administrators for approximately 3 hours.
This downtime won’t affect the normal operations of Point but administrators will not be able to make changes or push updates to users.
That means most of you won’t even notice until tomorrow when you see changes to the way your MyCalyx management page looks.
Here’s a quick peek into what you might see::
- “Manage users” is now “Manage Point Installations”
- The Getting Started button is now easier to find
- Administrators can see when a Point user doesn’t update to the assigned version
- A new Digital Key button will appear for PointCentral admins

As we exit the waning summer months and enter the final months of 2012, we are going to be busy here at Calyx and we have some exciting product news to tell you about.
Starting in October, we’re introducing our latest Point® and PointCentral® versions 8.0. 8.0 has some great features for convenience along with quite a few forms updates that you’ll want to have to stay compliant. Also included in 8.0 is the functionality needed for our next introduction, Mobile Apps.
The Calyx Mobile Apps are scheduled to launch in early November. We know a lot of you have been anxiously awaiting this introduction so you will be thrilled to know it’s almost here! The mobile apps are designed for both the iPhone and Android.
Following on the heels of the mobile apps, we’re going to launch Beta testing of our new cloud-based LOS, Path™. Path offers a combination of event-based / workflow architecture and notification system to help you manage both production and risk.

Point® 7.6 SP1 is now available for download via MyCalyx®. MyCalyx admins should push this update to all users as soon as possible.
As we mentioned before, this service pack is being released primarily to correct an issue with MI calculations in the TIL for FHA loans which caused the APR to be shown incorrectly. For information about how to correct this issue with FHA loans that were processed utilizing version 7.6, please access our knowledge base article.
We’ve also included additional updates to the following screens and forms:

- ARM disclosure

We all want the latest and greatest software, right? It’s no different when it comes to Internet Explorer. The last release is out and it’s all the rage. Not everybody can download it, though, because it doesn’t work the older operating systems (i.e. XP).
If you’re using Microsoft Vista or 7, this article is for you.
MyCalyx and IE9 don’t always get along. So if the MyCalyx prerequisite check page loops after restarting the computer, you’ll know instantly that your initial compatibility setting in Internet Explorer needs attention.
It’s an easy fix.
- Close all web pages
- Click the Install Point link from the installation e-mail that you have received.
- From the Prerequisite page, click the compatibility icon on the menu bar. (The compatibility icon is the page break icon that is to the right of the address bar).
- Close the web pages and click Install Point from your MyCalyx installation e-mail.

MyCalyx allows you to set up installation groups to facilitate Point installation on both network environments and the PointCentral server environment. These installation settings work by configuring the Point installation on the client machine to access data files and templates from either a network location or the PointCentral server.
To create an installation setting, log into Mycalyx.com and click Manage Users, then Installation Settings. You’ll want to select “Create New Settings” from the dropdown list. Enter a name into the Name field that best describes this installation setting.
For network installations:
- In the Templates Directory Path, enter the path to the shared pnttempl folder.
(For example: \\Server\Point_Data\Pnttempl or H:\Pnttempl)
- In the Data Folder Path, enter the path to the shared data folder and then click the plus(+) symbol.
(For example: \\Server\Point_Data\Pntdata or H:\pntdata)
- Repeat step 7 for all data folders which you are connecting to the installation setting.
- Leave the PointCentral section blank.
- Click Save.
For PointCentral installations:
- For PointCentral, the Templates Directory Path and Data Folder Path should be left blank.
- In the PointCentral section enter the PointCentral service URL and security key. (For example, mypdsserver.calyxpds.com/service)
- Click Save
For both: When the installation setting is saved, you can assign it to a new or existing user. The user will receive an e-mail to install Point from MyCalyx.

Access Mortgage Research and Consulting has just released their latest industry studies for brokers and lenders and we’re still the preferred vendor for origination and underwriting among brokers!
According to their latest results, Calyx holds 72.5% of the market share for brokers. We’ve held more than 50% since 2000 and it’s thrilling to learn that we are still doing something right!
We also support 36% of the lender market which includes banks, credit unions, and mortgage bankers. That’s exciting news for us because we trail the leader in the lender market by only 1.4%!
We love our brokers and we have enjoyed the challenge of developing our software to meet the more extensive needs of our lenders. We’re proud to substantiate our efforts to provide what our customers want and expect in a functional, easy to use mortgage platform!
