Are you missing your USDA Annual Fee in “Total Payments?” If so, your calculations are not going to be correct.
If you’re having this issue, it means you are on Point® 8.0 but have not yet downloaded the Service Pack which resolves the calculation. We have published a Knowledge Base article that addresses this particular calculation in the TIL.
Check what version you are using and ask your MyCalyx® Admin to push Point 8.0 SP1. Instructions for doing that can be found here.
If you have additional questions, feel free to browse our Knowledge Base or you can call our helpful support staff at 800-342-2599.

The Equal Credit Opportunity Act makes it unlawful for a creditor to discriminate against any applicant for a myriad of specified reasons. If credit is denied, creditors must provide disclosure to the applicant as to the reason for denial typically within 30 days. Details on Reg B can be found here.
PointCentral®gives you the tools you need to stay on top of Reg B requirements with Business Rules and Reports that you can customized to suit your needs.
- Create a custom Business Rule that pops up if the user has a Prospect for which credit has been run, and for which the file status is switched to Denied, and for which a Notice of Action Taken has not been prepared. The rule prevents saving the Status until the Notice of Action Taken has been prepared. Learn more about setting up custom rules here.
- Point offers 4 options for Notices: Notice of Incomplete Application, Notice of Counter Offer, Notices of Withdrawn Application as well as Notice of Credit Denial. Learn more about completing the Notice of Action Taken here.
- Create a custom report to run every 27 days to catch files for which Credit has been run, have not moved beyond Prospect status, and have not had a Notice of Action prepared. Learn more about creating custom reports here.
If you’d like additional help setting up your business rules or custom reports, you can learn by sitting in on one of our free online training classes or you can talk to your account rep at 800-362-2599 about a personal consultation with one of our experts

Appraisal Firewall and Calyx Point can help you! Appraisal Firewall is a technology solution fully integrated into Point that gives lenders access to their preferred appraiser panels.
From within Point, you can access your trusted local appraisers to place orders and receive appraisals back into Point – all the while complying with each and every appraisal independence regulation the Fed and investors have handed out. The more origination and processing work you can do right from within Point the better – so you can reduce costs, stop bouncing in and out of your favorite LOS, and maintain efficiency.
Appraisal Firewall is available right from within your Interfaces menu in Point – just a quick couple of steps to get setup and you will be ready to go. Although Appraisal Firewall is not an AMC, they offer connections to over 50 of them through their technology as well as to your individual appraisers.
You may have heard of their parent company SharperLending. SharperLending has been a Point partner for over a decade and they are excited to be able to offer Point users a solution that connects them directly to the appraisers they know, like and trust. For more information on Appraisal Firewall or SharperLending contact Jim Norman or leave a comment here on the Calyx Corner Blog.

Point 7.5 is currently scheduled for full release on December 1. However, because of the ULDD reporting deadline, we have made a BETA version of Point 7.5 available now.
MyCalyx Administrators will see a BETA version available on the version list in MyCalyx. We recommend you only download the BETA on a few machines to test the new ULDD functionality and become familiar with it prior to the full release.
The ULDD functionality has been fully tested and is ready for you to use in time for the December 1 reporting deadline. Other components of Point 7.5 are still being tested and will be available on the scheduled December 1 release date.
If you have any questions, please contact our technical support team at 800-342-2599. If you need to update your software, contact your account representative at 800-362-2599 to make sure you don’t miss the ULDD deadline.

You’ve asked for it and now you’re going to get it. Arriving in time for your compliance deadline, we expect to include the Uniform Loan Delivery Dataset (ULDD) in our November release of Point 7.5
The functionality in Point for ULDD will allow you to collect data and electronically deliver your files to GSE’s per the latest requirements.
For more information on ULDD, visit the FAQ pages for Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac.
We’ll see you at the Calyx User Conference on November 15 in Las Vegas.

The concept of being “all things to all people” is not only a lesson in futility; it’s a recipe for mediocrity.
In business, sometimes an “all in one” solution is good for initial revenue but bad for your clients in the long run. How do you excel in your primary mission if you take on additional ones that complement your mission but are best accomplished by others with specific expertise?
The answer is, you don’t. You stop excelling in your original mission and lower your operational standards in order to maintain the various functions of your other business.
Sometimes it’s better to stick with what you do best, and do it as best you can.
Here at Calyx, we develop software solutions for mortgage professionals. That’s what we do and we do it well. That’s why we’re still #1 after 20 years. We let the experts in complementary business do what they do best.
We are proud that so many best-of-breed providers interface with us to give our clients the power to choose among them for the additional services they need.
Get expertise; get choices with Calyx.
To see a list of preferred vendors available through your Point software, visit our Calyx Network page. If you’d like to learn more about what we can do for your business, call our account representatives at 800-362-2599.
