Last month we were excited to introduce Path™ to the market at MBA Tech in Florida. We held special showings to demonstrate its capabilities and unique functionality to lenders at the conference.
Path is our newest cloud based platform designed for retail and wholesale lenders. Its configurable architecture is unique to the market and we’re thrilled to offer this much-needed feature in Path.
Path does not replace Point® or PointCentral®. We’re proud that Point has served our loyal customers for over 20 years and will continue to support them with the features and functions that they require as the industry evolves.
Path was designed specifically for the needs of lenders and will import both Point files and Fannie Mae 3.2 files for processing. The pipeline view for each user is configured by role, so users only see what they need to see to do their job. Here are just a few more of the features in Path:
- A unique role-based workflow
- 100% web-based accessibility that runs on the most-popular browsers (Google Chrome™ Safari®, Firefox®, Internet Explorer®, etc.)
- Customer-owned and controlled data on the Microsoft Azure™ cloud platform
- Configurable operating units user groups that mirror each client’s organizational structure
Find out if Path is right for you. See more at www.calyxsoftware.com or call your account manager at 800-362-2599 for details.

We’re busily working on Point® and PointCentral® 8.1 as well as updates to Mobile Apps and WebCaster®!
You are going to love 8.1 because we’ve made improving software functionality goal #1. That means you’re going to experience better calculations to help with compliance on several screens. We’ve also made it easier for you to submit your loans to Freddie Mac and added a new company to the Fannie Mae interface.
And, last but certainly not least, Point and PointCentral 8.1 will work with Calyx Mobile™ 2.0 when credit interfaces are enabled. That’s right—you only have to wait a few more weeks to start taking credit requests on your mobile phones! Soon after that you’ll see an update to WebCaster.
Spring is definitely in bloom at Calyx. Don’t miss these updates!
Make sure your account is current and look for our blog announcing availability of the newest versions at the end of the month. You can call your account manager at 800-362-2599 to update your account or to get more information.
Details on updates to Point and PointCentral, Calyx Mobile, and WebCaster will be posted on our website closer to the actual release dates.

LoanScoreCard™ is an automated underwriting system (AUS) that determines a loan’s eligibility for FHA insurance at a very low cost. The system is simple to use and generates comprehensive decisions in seconds.
With LoanScoreCard, you have the flexibility to produce and submit final TOTAL FHA findings in the way that makes the most sense—it works with any LOS or even without one.
LoanScoreCard works in three ways:
- Via Point® or PointCentral® with seamless integration for maximum convenience
- Via an imported DU 3.2 file or direct data entry into LoanScorecard.com
- Via a web services call to the LoanScoreCard FHA engine
Find out how much money you can save on FHA loans with LoanScoreCard! Call your account management team today at 800-362-2599.

Point 8.0 SP2 treats FHA loans submitted to Freddie Mac a little differently than before. If you have attempted to submit an FHA loan and received this message: “07 LP 41: You have requested automated underwriting with reference number which is not a valid request for an FHA total resubmission,” you will need to complete one more step before resubmitting.
For complete details, you can visit the Knowledge Base article, but here are the steps you’ll find:
To remove the credit reference number so that you can submit to Freddie Mac:
- Open the Point file.
- From the menu bar, select Interfaces > Freddie Mac > Addendum.
- From the Merged Credit Reference Number (MCRN) section, remove the reference number next to the Borrower and Co-Borrower fields.
- Resubmit the loan to Freddie Mac and then manually enter the credit reference number in the Freddie Mac site.
If you have an un-married co-borrower attached to your particular loan file, you’ll have to remove the credit reference number from that file as well.
You can always find helpful information on almost any of your Calyx Software questions on our Knowledge Base 24 hours a day or you can email support@calyxsoftware.com.
Calyx offers free phone support for all users of current accounts. Call 800-342-2599 during office hours for additional help.

In carpentry, the rule of thumb is “measure twice; cut once.” It’s time consuming and can be cost prohibitive to start cutting before you’re absolutely sure of the measurements. Just being off (short) 1/8” can mean starting over.
The same concept can be applied to your APRs. If your rates don’t match your closing docs, or if they are too high or low, something is amiss. That’s why it pays to check—early and often!
You’ve got to make sure you have the right numbers on the Fees Worksheet for:
- Prepaid Finance Charges
- Adjustable Rate Mortgages (ARM)
- Mortgage Insurance
- Payment Schedule
- Graduated Payment Mortgage
- Construction Loans
Deviations in any of these sections can affect your rate amounts. Your lender can tell you what items you should include or exclude from your APR calculation.
You can get detailed instructions on checking your calculations on this Knowledge Base article.
For additional assistance with Point, our helpful support is available at 800-342-2599 for all users of current accounts.

If you’ve ever manually prepared files reports for submission, you probably already know how much easier it is when you have your data all in one place along with an automated send mechanism that doesn’t involve a fax machine or duplicate data entry.
Point streamlines your submission process to Fannie Mae through a direct interface in Point. You just open the file you want to submit and complete the required fields before sending.
If you have questions regarding the fields you will need to complete, you can follow the steps found on this helpful DO article or you can visit our Knowledge Base.
If you have questions, you can call our support staff at 800-342-2599. As usual, technical support via web, email or phone call is free for all users of current accounts.
