If you haven’t installed Microsoft .NET 4.0 Framework yet, now is the best time.  Your MyCalyx® system will be updated today.  This update is automatic and will install the first time Point® is opened after the update finishes.

You’ll need to have .NET 4.0 installed on each Point computer before the updates will install.  The software is free from Microsoft.  Check out our Knowledge Base article #844 to learn if you have the correct version.  If you don’t have the correct version, you can follow the link in the article that takes you to the free download.

Ensuring.NET 4.0 is installed on each Point computer prior to the update will facilitate the MyCalyx update and minimize interruptions to your business.  If it is not already installed, the update will take longer as it will install .NET 4.0 before it is able to complete the update.

Path joins Point and PointCentral in the Calyx line-up!

It’s National Police Week

This week we celebrate the lives and sacrifices of our police officers and their families.  This will be the first year in a long time that I’m not going to be able to attend my local dedication service although there have already been several in my area and more are scheduled later this week.

It’s unfortunate that police officers often get such a bad reputation.  Like any profession there are good ones and bad ones but the public exposure makes each bad one seem much more significant.  But they do so much more good, and most of those good deeds go unnoticed—or unappreciated.

Nobody goes into police work for the money–many small town officers make the same or less than they would if they worked the front desk at a major hotel chain and that’s after paying thousands of dollars for training and equipment. They do it to serve their communities and to make a difference.  It’s a calling.  And while they may get jaded after awhile from seeing the worst in humanity day after day, they persevere—and they go on saving lives day after day.

It’s a thankless profession but one that deserves much more recognition and honor than one week out of each year.  Spread the word and thank an officer.  Happy Police Week!

Today’s post is a short and sweet reminder to all current accounts.

Point and PointCentral 8.1 require Microsoft’s  .NET Framework 4.0 to function properly.  This version of .NET should be installed prior to attempting to download Point from MyCalyx.  It’s a free download from Microsoft.

Remember, you must have .NET before installing 8.1.

Point Mobile 2.0 is now available for download via the Apple store or Google Play.

This version works exclusively with Point and PointCentral 8.1 to give you access to credit interfaces so you can run credit requests from your phone.

We’ve redesigned the screens so they’re refreshingly clear and streamlined.  And you can now search for loans in any data folder with a convenient search bar.
